MetsMagic

Sigh of relief

The Mets defeated the Red's in today's season opener in Cincy with another solid pitching performance from Johan Santana.

Daniel Murphy's bat continues to amaze, while Gary Sheffield looked on grunting the defense and two singles by Ryan Church.

Most importantly, the new bullpen did exactly what we've been missing for a few years...allowed us to breathe. Sean Green and JJ Putz got the job done and Fransisco Rodriguez had a 1-2-3 ninth for his first save as a Met.

Classic Wright.

Mets goldenboy David Wright provided the game winning rbi in last nights Baseball Classic's win over Puerto Rico.

It was tough rooting against the USA when our PR players were on the field, but they all looked impressive. Beltran's catch made me wet my pants, but it was only like 2 drips.

Exhale Met fans...Johan to start Thursday.

After a little elbow scare, Johan Santana has had some successful bullpen sessions and is scheduled to start this Thursday night at 7PM EST against the Marlins.

Be sure to watch on MLB.TV and we'll see if he looks ready for opening day.

The photo below is after a papparazzi asked what he thought of metsmagic.com and how his arm was feeling...

Mets sign Freddy Garcia

Since Scott Boras is obviously being a prick face jerk neck, the Mets had to settle on Freddy Garcia for an $8 million dollar MINOR LEAGUE deal.

Why not sign Pedro, if you're paying for damaged goods? I'll give the guy a fair shot in spring training, but he played 3 games last year!

Mets are also in negotiations with Oil Can Boyd, Bob Walk and the kid from Rookie of the Year.

Mets sign Alex Cora

The Mets got former Red Sox IF with a ring Alex Cora today...Unfortunately, there are no possible interesting things to say or joke about with this player...

Other than the DUI mug...
Steve Sansone?.

Mets take out more garbage

The Mets paid the Diamondbacks 1.6 Million to take the fool that gave up the season ending homerun to Wes Helms yesterday.

In exchange we got some dude that pitched for about a week.

Bullpen overhaul: complete.

Goodbye stupid Putz, hello JJ Putz

The Mets added to their pen last night, by ridding them of the idiot who cost us last season and got Mariners closer JJ Putz. It's sad to see Joe Smith go, but we needed this boost.

First bit of magic...

The Mets locked up the top free agent closer today, for 3 years and hopefully began a positive off season trend. K-Rod has the best swing/miss ratio for a reliever of all time, an instant upgrade from Aaron Heilman's swing/game winning home run ratio.

:  WFAN’s Mike Francesca, a.k.a., ‘the biggest Yankee fan,’ is on air during his popular drive-time radio show, freaking out about Sabathia.

Basically, Francesa believes Sabathia is embarrassing the Yankees, by taking so long to accept their six-year, $140 million deal.

“Shut up,” Francesa is saying, “Enough already, why does this guy need to be sold on the Yankees.”

According to Francesa, “Sabathia is not Johan Santana,” the Yankees should give up at this point and move on.
